Dear MDD Family,
We are writing today to share an update on the precautions that the Maryland D’Fenders are taking in response to new information received about the Coronavirus, otherwise known as, COVID-19. We understand that many families, players, and staff members are truly concerned and we want to make sure that your concerns are acknowledged and answered.
The Maryland D’Fenders are staying vigilant with updates from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and DC Health. There have been many cases of community spread of the Coronavirus in surrounding areas, so much so, that the state of Maryland has suspended school for the next two weeks and DCPS is considering doing the same.
In response to the states decision and pending decisions from surrounding city officials, the Maryland D’Fenders have decided to postpone practice. All teams practices will be cancelled from March 16 – March 27. Practices will resume the following Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Suitland High School. Coaches will send out texts to inform players of any additional updates.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. The administrative team will do its best to keep parents updated with information in relation to the team, practices, and events. If you have specific questions, you can reach out to the D’Fenders administrative team via the Contact Us page.
Thank you all,
